She is the teacher of Stephen Higgins, and together they try to recover the Mary Engine from the Serious Cybernetics Corporation. When they break into the SCC, she duels Nightingale and loses, but destroys the Mary Engine in the process. She is restrained in the Folly, in the magic-proof cells. She later agrees to help the Folly with finding the real Mary Engine when she realises that the one that was destroyed is fake.
