Jason Dunlop (called Gripper by the Faceless Man), was a freelance journalist. He attended Magdalen College at the same time as Lady Ty studied at Oxford. He was one of the victims of the Pale Lady. His dead body was found in the loo of the Groucho Clob, of which he was a member. The vestigia on the murder scene was of port wine, treacle, the taste of suet and the smell of candles.[1]

When his home in Islington was searched, a copy of Principia Artes Magicis was found, last lent from Ambrose House by Geoffrey Wheatcroft in 1941. Even if Mr. Dunlop had been a student at Oxford University, he had not attended any of Geoffrey Wheatcroft's classes.[2]
