Barnaby Atkins Esq. was the County Practitioner in the county of Herefordshire between 1899 and 1912. During the events of Foxglove Summer Peter Grant found his Incident Books in the private library of Hugh Oswald.[1]

The incident books contained entries on local Vestigia impressions and other possibly magical phenomenon in the Hereford area as observed by Atkins.[1] Peter Grant also noted the books contained extraneous entries describing Atkins's sexual exploits, food poisoning, voyeurism, and an unsuccessful sexual advance on an Orisa that resulted in a head injury.[1]
