Alaric Robinette is a rich, overweight land-owner who appears rather dominated by his mother. He has become obsessed with the story 'The Hounds of Zaroff' (aka 'The Most Dangerous Game') by Richard Connell and has gathered a library of all editions, translations and remakes in different formats.
The story is of a rich man hunting human beings for sport. Alaric recreates this element of the tale on horseback with dogs.[1]
